Yugoslavia sometimes referred to as The Yugoslavian Splinters is an area in Southern Europe consisting of various countries, and a combined military force. It consists of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia.
History[]
Yugoslavia has always been mismatched since its founding, and quickly fell into civil war once the global economic situation worsened and it seemed their breadbaskets would abandon them. Eventually, the wars de-escalated and trade opened up between the countries, as well as the setting of rules of war designed to prevent the economy from collapsing.
In 2018, Greece and Albania annexed the former Yugoslavian Macedonia. In retaliation, Serbia allied with Croatia and invaded Albania,[1] annexing the northernmost part of the country[2] by 2019.[3]
By 2077, Yugoslavia faces instability, with Serbian and Albanian rebellions being commonplace, routinely stoked by corporations and criminal elements (such as BARGHEST) having a vested interest in arms sales to and from the fragmented Yugoslavia. Serbia has become a hotbed of separatism, with Netwatch agent Alan Noël describing an illegal arms shipment from Dogtown to Serbian rebels.
The Albanian mafia is mentioned as a criminal network operating across Europe according to a data shard. Corporations such as Digital Dimensions are also covertly stoking rebellions in Albanian-majority areas in Yugoslavia. There remains a political stalemate to this day between Albania/Greece and the Yugoslavian splinters.[3]
Culture[]
Bosnia-Herzegovina[]
Various armies have divided Bosnia into various enclaves with their own local lords; arms manufacturers have started giving their prototypes to Bosnian armies for testing. Bosnian citizens live for what they scrounge, which isn’t much.[1]
Serbia[]
Serbia's black market, backed by the military, is the only place in the country where things like bread and bullets can be purchased. The Serbian army is quick to strip the resources of what little land they manage to conquer for anything they can sell.[1]
Croatia[]
Croatia is the (relatively) richest country in Yugoslavia as corporations are attempting to rebuild the many coastal hotels on the Adriatic Sea which were abandoned during the war.[1]
Slovenia[]
Slovenia quickly found western allies to bolster its economy and is fully industrialized, with a decent tourism trade as well.[1]
