Washington, D.C., is the capital of the New United States.
Overview[]
Washington, D.C. is a compact city on the Potomac River, bordering the states of Maryland and Virginia. It's defined by imposing neoclassical monuments and buildings. Essentially, the city is one big military base, with visiting tour groups having to be escorted by armed soldiers.[1]
History[]
Washington, D.C. is a struggling old city that once controlled the politics of the United States before The Collapse. Now the capital city struggles to maintain the current US and tries to regain the power that it once held. However with many of the Free States, and corporate powers at hand, as well as a failing country the old government has so far been unsuccessful in regaining power. By 2077, under the administration of NUSA President Rosalind Myers, a monument under construction to commemorate the tricentennial of the United States in the city was damaged by a freak storm. Located within the larger DC Metro Area in both 2020 and 2077 are the headquarters of the corporate giant Militech as well as the FIA, the successor to the CIA of the 20th century, in Langley, Virginia.[2]
