Reason: Needs more information on what happens if specific dialog was chosen during The Corpo-Rat

Some time after meeting with Alt Cunningham and dealing with the Voodoo Boys, V is contacted by Frank Nostra, a former colleague of them who also worked at the Arasaka Corporation's Counter Intelligence Division, who has recorded a message for them.

In the recorded message, Nostra tells V that Susan Abernathy, the director of Arasaka's North American Special Operations division, is purging the department of anybody who is not one-hundred percent on her side, and that he himself is one of the people that appeared on her radar. Not intending to wait around until the proverbial executioner would come around, he informs V that he started to put together a file on Abernathy, and that he has hidden the documents in question in a safe location. The message ends with Nostra informing V that the reason they are receiving the message is because Nostra himself was unable to make use of the documents, and expects that V will know how to handle the situation, and that they can find the documents at the attached coordinates.[Notes 1]

The attached coordinates lead V to a dumpster in an alley on Allen street in the Kabuki sub-district of Watson. When V approaches the dumpster, Johnny Silverhand projects himself in front of them and starts mocking V about their continued interest in the Corporate lifestyle.

If V decides to interact with Johnny:

V tells Johnny that they've still got a few scores to settle, to which Johnny will respond that he knew all along they were still into the Corporate "rat race," after which V mocks Johnny for not having something more important to do.

After V moves the dumpster, they find the mentioned briefcase, which upon opening appears to be empty. V is then confronted by a disheveled and bitter, but still very much alive Frank Nostra, who currently finds himself in a similar situation that V found themselves not too long ago. In his desperation to prove Abernathy wrong, Nostra is convinced that turning over V to her will get him back into her good graces and employed at Arasaka again.

If V tells Frank that they're a nobody to Abernathy [Combat]:

V tells Nostra that Abernathy probably doesn't even know that they exist or that she even ever knew of their existence, and explains to Nostra that they were just a tool used by Arthur Jenkins in an attempt to get rid of Abernathy. V also tells Nostra that if they were both to return to the Arasaka headquarters, they would probably both be shot at on sight. Nostra replies with that he has nothing to lose, and engages combat with V.

If V tells Frank that they're pathetic:

V tells Nostra the story about another former colleague of theirs, Joey Livani, who pissed himself the day he got fired, and that they saw him as the most pathetic guy to have ever worked at Arasaka. However, V informs Nostra that they have now taken over the title of most pathetic Arasaka employee.
If V tells Frank to open his eyes [Non-Combat]:
V mocks Nostra for being a fool and trying to get back into Arasaka after they fired him without any mercy. They tell him that his time at Arasaka should be considered complete and that they should try and refigure out their life, and that Nostra has the means start a new career path in Night City if he properly uses the tools—a gun, ammunition and a little initiative—at his disposal.

[Combat] If V defeats Nostra:

Not intending on being taken in by Nostra, V puts up a fight, resulting in Nostra's neutralization. Upon inspecting his body, V is able to snag his Iconic JKE-X2 Kenshin, the Apparition.

After dealing with Frank, Johnny appears once more to passive aggressively crack wise about meeting old friends.

Journal Entry[]

A voice from beyond the grave, the promise of dirt on old enemies...
I'll admit, I'm a little curious. But in your shoes, I'd be careful with this one. Corpos are like wasps - they can sting even after they're dead.

  • Go to the indicated location.
  • Talk to Johnny. [Optional]
  • Move the dumpster.
  • Open the briefcase.
