The Rescue is a main job in Cyberpunk 2077. V and their partner Jackie, along with a Netrunner named T-Bug, are hired to find and retrieve a missing person, Sandra Dorsett, whose Biomonitor locator implant went dark.

Walkthrough[]

This article requires cleanup.
[Reason: Rewrite from V's perspective]

The quest starts out with a montage of your exploits with Jackie in Night City. Six months later, V find themselves in their car alongside Jackie, discussing the job they're hired to complete by Wakako Okada.

V learns that the missing woman is probably in a den of Scavengers in room 1237 of a certain apartment block. T-Bug helps unlocking the main door and disabling the security system.

Upon getting inside, you and Jackie will head through two rooms, the second of which has the corpse of a woman packed with Zetatech repros on a table. The third room will contain your first enemy, which you will need to sneak up to and either kill or knock out before throwing his body in the container in front of him. Sneak up to the area next to the main room with Jackie, where you will need to wait for two more scavs to head through. Sneak up on one of them and then kill or incapacitate him.

There are five scavs to deal with in the main room, which you can take out however you like. You will also need to deal with the Scav Leader, who is packing some serious heat in the form of a Militech Mk. 31 HMG, which can and will kill you in seconds if you're open to him. Either take cover and blast him with whatever weapons you got off the scavs until he's dead, take the route that T-Bug gives you and provide cover fire so that Jackie can tackle and incapacitate him, or use a quickhack to distract him using the light in his chamber before sneaking up and dealing with him however you wish.

Once you've gotten past the scavengers, you and Jackie enter a bathroom on the other side of the apartment. In a bathtub you will find the missing woman, whose name is Sandra Dorsett, packed in ice with a dead man. While alive, she is medically unstable and requires you to save her using an AirHypo when she starts flatlining. After removing the GPS jammer which prevented Sandra's Trauma Team Platinum alert from activating, carry Sandra to the balcony where Trauma Team will arrive via an Atlus AV, order you to place Sandra on the stretcher they lay down and then extract her. You and Jackie must then leave using another elevator. Contact Wakako and tell her the job is done. It doesn't matter which of the options you pick.

On the drive back to V's home at Megabuilding H10 in Watson, you and Jackie will be ambushed by a van full of more scavengers. There are four scavs to deal with, two of whom open fire from the rear doors, another of whom fires on you upon opening a side door later on during the attack, and the driver. Deal with them quickly by shooting them with your pistol so you don't take too much damage, though if you don't take out all four scavs, the van will eventually crash and kill them all regardless.

You will then arrive at a NCPD blockade at the border of Watson, though Jackie will be able to convince an officer to let you pass, and then drive until you see a situation involving some gangoons running foul of a MaxTac squad and getting slaughtered. Finally, Jackie will drop you off before leaving to see his girlfriend. Head up to your apartment, where you will have the option to check your stash. Lying down on the bed will end the quest.

Journal Entry[]

Wakako Okada's got us a gig. Fixer got an SOS call from one of her clients, Sandra Dorsett. All signs point to her having been plucked off the street by scavengers. Motherfuckers are in the biz of carving people up and selling their implants on the black market. Think it's time we paid them a visit. Whaddaya say, ese/chica?

Notes[]

  • The mission was originally titled "Breaking Through" during the E3 2018 trailer and took place on April 13th, 2077.
  • A different outcome for the first phase of the mission was shown during the E3 2018 trailer. In it, Trauma Team was warned before the scavengers were dealt with, and a firefight between them would ensue.
  • On the computer of the gang leader, there is a message suggests they had a conflict with Viktor.
  • Scanning Sandra as Trauma Team takes her away will reveal that she is missing critical cyberware, most likely taken by the scavs.
  • The GPS location shown during jacking in Sandra's Biomonitor is "36.8415, -121.7974", which is located in real-life Monterey County, California, USA.
  • When leaving the apartment, the elevator ride down to V's vehicle advances time to 10:00 PM, to transition from day to night time for the following chase sequence.
    • As of Patch 2.0, the clock can no longer be seen advancing in the user-interface as it has been hidden.
