Stateline is a NorCal town located on the border between South and North California.
History[]
2010s - 2020s[]
The settlement was built at some point in the 2010s, on the border between Northern and Southern California — along Interstate 5 — by a major trucking company called Freightrunners.
Stateline owned its growth to the most business-minded of people, for most of the town was dominated by weigh stations, customs inspections, and more. This was all thanks to the extensive operation Freightrunners did in order to facilitate rapid interstate shipment deliveries at that time. Since it straddled the state line, visitors were able to go back and forth between jurisdictions, performing small-scale smuggling of their own, provided they were good enough to avoid the attention of the numerous NorCal and SoCal police forces.
During the late 2010s and early 2020s, Stateline became the hub for all the smuggling operations between both states, and a center for most illegal activities along the Californian coast. If anything happened on the roads, the truckers at Stateline were most likely behind it.[1]
2070s[]
It's unknown how the Unification War affected Stateline, but a proper border wall was built between both Californias after the conflict, with the city being considered exclusively located within NorCal territory.
As of 2077, Stateline still stands. The roads leading from Night City to Interstate 9 have signs pointing towards it.[2]
Notes[]
- The chromatic rock band Samurai played at least once in Stateline.[3]
- The map in Neo Tribes wrongly labels Stateline as not being located in Interstate 5.
