Smash/Cut is a dance club located in the Watson Development district of northern Night City.
Overview[]
Owned by EDM band URBIS, Smash/Cut was a dance club known to be the place where cybered up individuals went to dance, do drugs, and have anonymous sex. Despite being one of the most popular nightspots in Night City during the 2040s, this club would have shut down if it wasn't for the fact that URBIS propped the establishment up with their royalties. This was mostly because Smash/Cut didn't sell any alcohol whatsoever, with much of the clientele being just drugged-up neo-ravers.
People went to Smash/Cut to dance and have casual sex without the need for a talk, since due to the loud EDM beat, most conversations were inaudible. The club's interior decor was perfunctory, with a few desultory chairs and tables arranged around an immense dance floor. There were 360 degree wraparound vidwalls and holoprojectors in the ceiling and dance floor that when combined with the strobe lights and mirrors, it created an atmosphere that was described as "an armored truck having sex with a neon sign."
Due to the loud music, the staff was trained in the American Sign Language to communicate, which was very useful during a crisis. They also took advantage of this by dazzling compensation in their smart glasses or cybereyes. Noise-canceling earplugs were a standard issue in the club.[1]

- Smash/Cut didn't have a signature alcoholic drink, instead having energy and isotonic beverages available for everyone, costing 10eb per 20oz bottle.[1]
