Samantha Stevens was a borg and had her whole body covered in chrome. By the Time of the Red, she was a retired pararescue firefighter living anonymously in her own garage in Night City. She was a close friend of Angel, and both were fans of Johnny Silverhand.[1]
Samantha is one of the secondary characters of the Black Dog story from Cyberpunk RED.
Appearance[]
Samantha is described to be chromed from head to toe, with the appearance of a metal Amazon, down to the shaped metal muscles. This is further supported by the fact that she stands at a whopping seven feet tall. She also wears a tank top and warm leggings on a body that never feels pain or temperature unless she wishes to.
Biography[]
Samantha used to be an NCFD pararescue firefighter during the 2010s. Around 2015, she saved Johnny Silverhand from a fire that occurred in one of his studios.[2][3]
After the 2023 AHQ Disaster, a friend of hers, Angel, asked Samantha to go into the Hot Zone and access a wrecked bunker among the ruins of the Arasaka Towers. While exploring the area, Samantha found the body of Silverhand and an unexploded Arasaka nuclear device. Realizing how dangerous it was, she emptied its contents into the depths of Del Coronado Bay and hid Johnny's body into the nuke crate to preserve it. At some point she also retrieved some of Johnny's possessions, including one of his Malorian 3516 and his Porsche. She hid all of these items, including the bomb case, in her own garage somewhere in Night City. She protected and took care of them for decades, preserving the vehicle in its pristine state by keeping it in cold storage, and maintaining the weapon functional by using cosmoline.[3][4]
After encountering a group of edgerunners who were trying to find an unreleased song of Samurai, Samantha gave them the task to transport the crate to Los Alamos Labs in New Mexico. Before they left, Samantha took aside one of them, a mercenary known as Zara, and gave her the Malorian she had found in a wrapped package, and told her that the owner was never going to use it again, adding that she seemed the right person to carry it for him.
Unfortunately, Samantha died of cancer some time after these events. This was due to the radioactivity she absorbed when she accessed the Hot Zone shortly after the nuke went off.[3]

I was planning to put it into Aftershocks, but the day I finished the story--in fact, about 20 minutes after I finished--somebody flew a plane into the last of the Twin Towers (I had CNN on) and suddenly it was no longer appropriate to release it in the face of so much real world death."
