The Robot R MK.2 is a defense drone used for protection. These robots are contracted or bought by other corporations such Arasaka, Militech, Kang Tao and Biotechnica. Or for personal use by the likes of politicians and celebrities, such as Kerry Eurodyne. These robots are meant for those who do not wish to use live assets.
They are also utilized by NCPD's regular forces and Tactical Division, gangs such as Maelstrom, and independent mercenary groups also employ the use of R Mk.2s in combat.

As of 2076, the Robot R Mk.2 has also been used as a patrol robot by the NCPD, part of Commissioner Jerry Fawlter's infamous drones-for-cops replacement program.
