Red Mesa is the capital city of the newly-formed Unified American Nation.

After The Collapse, the native Navajo and Cherokee tribes decided to begin the formation of their own country. They chose the area of New Mexico to begin so that the remaining governments of the area would overlook them.
The Unified American Nation has declared the land between the US-64, San Felipe Indian Reservation, Jicarilla Apache Indian Reservation, and Santa Fe National Forest as their property. Trucks travelling through the area have been attacked by the UAN, and this has led to unsuccessful raids on the city by the armed forces of New Mexico.[1]
