The Pan-African Alliance, also known as New Africa appears in Cyberpunk.
Overview[]
From the Capetown bloodbath, New Africa emerged as a divided continent of warring countries under a bewildering array of dictators, democracies and socialist states. Eventually, as European countries negotiated with Tanzania to build the Killamanjaro massif, many African nations began to see their place in the 21st century. By negotiating for labour, raw materials and valuable land in the critical equatorial orbital belt, African states established themselves in space - almost a third of the space construction workforce is African. Technology has united Africa under one government, and the last of the petty dictators and warlords have fallen.[2] New Africa had been reborn by the Fourth Corporate War as a space-dominant nation, being unified by the European nations of the Eurotheatre. The Highrider nation had formed, declaring their sovereignty and space control from the rest of the world, due to most space workers, spaceports, and construction areas being on African soil or otherwise African-related. Major corporations such as the Kenyan megacorp Orbital Air serve as a testament to Africa's increasing focus on space exploration.[3]
