History[]
2020s - 2030s[]
Pacifica was originally an upper class residential area nestled between the ocean and the hills, famous for its entertainment sector, which included its own amusement park, Playland by the Sea. During the Fourth Corporate War, droves of refugees climbed over themselves to get to safe spots like Heywood and Pacifica. Then the Night City Holocaust occurred, with refuges from around the metropolitan area flooding the surrounding suburbs and constructing multitude of tent cities.
Over the following years, Pacifica lost its entertainment status, with the old beach condos dying out, but Playland managed to live on, providing joy to those who could afford to go there. Thanks to the amusement park, corporations begun to sponsor the district. As such, despite the many refugees residing here, it was not as bad as in the neighboring suburbs.[1][2]
2040s - 2050s[]
By the 2040s, Pacifica was in the midst of a massive, but slow development being built around Playland by the Sea, with ongoing projects such as the rebuilding of the NCART lines above ground and extend them to cover all the districts in the city.[1]
The slow rebuilding process was accelerated in the late 2050s when investors tried to expand the region into a booming touristic resort, set to become the new Pacifica District.[2]
