This article is about the location in Cyberpunk 2020. For other uses, see Pacifica (disambiguation).

A beach city on the coast.[2]

 — The Suburban Sprawls, Night City Sourcebook

Pacifica was a city located in the Greater Night City Area, as well as a suburb of Central Night City. It would continue to exist during the Time of the Red.

Overview[]

Pacifica was an upper class residential coastal city nestled between the cliffs of the Pacific Ocean and Rancho Coronado. Protected by a Militech security contract, the city was a fairly safe place to live.

By 2020, Pacifica was home to the newly renovated Playland by the Sea, which brought a fair amount of tourist traffic from all over the Californias. On the coastal area at Pacifica lied the expensive condos of the Coastview development, offering a view of both the open sea, and for some a view of the bright lights of Playland itself. The entire area claimed to have the more relaxed attitude of Northern California, and prided itself in being the only place in the Night City Area where one could truly relax. It was the ideal place to kick back and rest after a hard day of battles and beatdowns in Night City.

The security in Pacifica was not nearly as draconian as in Westbrook. There were some people that hanged out at Playland that wouldn't be let past the security gates at Coastview, but when dealing with that area, the security played for the keeps. While a booster could party down on the beach — with only a warning from security to keep the noise down — if they tried to cause trouble in Coastview, the Militech troops would think nothing of cutting them down.

Pacifica was also known for having the best seafood in the Night City Area. Almost all the restaurants had made the top ten lists in their respective fields. Pacifica was also home to several galleries and museums as well as a small and fairly prestigious art college, and it was home of the Pacifica Arcology.

Ferry connections from Central Night City to North Oak and Pacifica were available, and NCART connections with the metropolitan area were available from this city as well.[2][1]
