Oriona was a mercenary in Night City. She is one of the main characters in the Cyberpunk 2077: You Have My Word comic series, and has a cameo appearance in Cyberpunk 2077: Blackout.
Biography[]
Oriona was born to Aarno and Teresa, growing up in their home in the Badlands, on the outskirts of Night City. At some point she became pregnant and had a daughter, Wayra. Determined to find a better life for her daughter, Oriona became a mercenary to gain eddies and leave NC for good.
While her parents stayed in the Badlands taking care of Wayra, Oriona went to Night City to find gigs. At some point started dating Alina Homma, who worked at Militech. She befriended Kyle J. and Arthur Cormac, who joined her as partners. The three of them were hired by a Valentino known as El Sombreron, who wanted to expose a man named Jack Lars, a councilman who had been bought out by Militech.
After searching for more information about their target by assaulting one of his locations, Oriona went to a diner in the Badlands, where her mother Teresa worked. During their small talk, Oriona got a holocall from Kyle, who had collected more intel about Lars. She then left in a hurry.
Once at the meeting point, Oriona waited under the rain for about half an hour, freezing and getting angry that Kyle was taking its time. Finally a car appeared, and the driver shouted her name. The merc approached the vehicle—infuriated by waiting—and shouted at the driver to unlock the door. The car's side window was lowered and a voice told her they knew everything, and pulled out a gun to shoot her in the head.[1] She had been betrayed by Cormac, who had sold her out to El Sombreron so that he could find his sister and Oriona's mother, Teresa.[2]

Notes[]
- Oriona can be seen in Cyberpunk 2077: Blackout #4.
- During their first meeting, when El Sombreron pondered if he recognized Oriona, she was startled but said she wasn't known yet. To deflect back the topic of the conversation, Oriona stated that she had a twin sister who was a famous porn industry star, to force El Sombreron not to think so much about her and continue talking business. In truth, El Sombreron had recognized her because she reminded him about his sister, La Llorona.
