The O'Neill Colonies are four space stations located at the Lagrange points, in stable positions between the Earth and the Moon.
Overview[]
The O'Neill Colonies were built as the second step in space colonization, they used the cylindrical construction technique first used in the construction of the Titanic Colony founded by space colony pioneer Dr. Gerard K O'Neill. The cylindrical rotating pieces of the O'Neills structure contains a full eco-system of trees, rivers and windows to control sunlight.[2][1][3]
O'Neill One and Two were both subjects of a worker revolution, which resulted in both colonies declaring their independence and becoming the first nations established outside of Earth.[3]
The O'Neill Colonies[]
- O'Neill One - Located in the Lagrange point 5; finished in 2016.
- O'Neill Two (Galileo Cylinder) - Located in the Lagrange point 3; finished in 2017.
- O'Neill Three (Paradise Station) - Located in the Lagrange point 4; finished in 2018.
- O'Neill Testbed (Spacecraft Construction and Maintenance) - Located in the Lagrange point 2, built before O'Neill One.
