The Night City Rangers, also known as the California Rangers,[1] were a professional football team based in Night City. Their home was the McCartney Stadium.
Overview[]
The NC Rangers were once the premier National Football League team in Night City, sporting black and red uniforms. They were described as "the best team money could buy," and had showed a tenacious dominance in the late 2010s, taking the Super Bowl twice in row, and aiming for a third in 2020, being one of the favorites to win.
With the leadership of quarterback Joe Montenegro, the Rangers were known as a team built on their passing offense, though there were rumors that some of its members, noticeably Montenegro himself, were sporting hidden cyberware to take advantage. However, the NFL stated multiple times these rumors were unfounded. Euro Business Machines was the Ranger's recruiting team, and had signed stellar players like Cyrus McKormick.[2][1]
Sadly for the Rangers, they were one of the many victims in the turmoils of Night City during the Fourth Corporate War in the early 2020s. The city remained without a professional team until the establishment of the Night City Nighthawks.[3]

- Ranger Sports was a local shop found not far from the stadium and named after the football team. It provided many sporting goods and other items for fans, as well as tickets for the arena.[2]
- The black and red uniform palette would be inherited by the football team known as the Night City Corsairs.
