The Night City Fire Department (NCFD), also known as the Fire Department of Night City (FDNC),[1] is the full-service fire department agency of Night City.
History[]
1994 - 2023[]
During the 2010s and early 2020s, the Fire Department of Night City had at their disposition some of the most sophisticated fire and rescue equipment available, also including ground and air vehicles, in addition to three AV-4's specifically designed as fire-fighting units. The NCFD was electronically hooked into the NCPD police emergency network as well. All this gave the fire department a response time of mere minutes in the case of smaller fires.
The problem in the system came when the department needed to roll out the old-fashioned tanker trucks. The Night City traffic was usually so bad that a building was often burnt to the ground before the bigger trucks could reach it. In response to this problem, the Fire Department begun work on a project to replace the older tanker trucks with a modified version of the AV-8 specifically designed for use as a fire-fighting vehicle.
Due to the large number of firefighters needed in the 2020s, Night City begun a recruitment campaign in the armed forces, suggesting that with the amount of dangerous work firemen got involved in, firefighting would be a logical career choice for someone used to assault-style situations. The division stationed at the Fire Station #1 prided themselves on being the best firefighting team in North California during that time.[2]
2023 - 2040s[]
By the 2040s, the firefighters usually installed a lot of cyberware in their bodies to facilitate their job and make them more resistant against the hazards of a fire. Firetrucks and AVs were commonly used.[3]
Fire Stations[]

In 2020, the fire stations included sleeping and eating quarters, living rooms for resting, and recreational areas. The buildings had a capacity for at least 20 people, who worked a three day on and four day off rotating shift.
The buildings included a garage for the trucks and landing pads on the roof for the aircrafts. The upper floors were usually used by the firefighters for training, simulating and practicing rescue situations.[2]
