The Nakagawa Kabuki Troupe is a Kabuki performance group based in Night City.
Overview[]
The Nakagawa Kabuki Troupe was hailed as one of the greatest Kabuki performing groups in said art's history. They usually performed in the Bodukkan Center of Night City, where they had a large main staged usually used to accommodate them. Some local kabuki troupes used female actors in onnagata roles. The Ichikawa Shōjo Kabuki Gekidan, an all-female troupe, debuted in 1953 to significant acclaim but failed to start a new trend.
A number of the Nakagawa troupe members were so dedicated that they had bio-sculpted their bodies to look like their classical roles as demons, princes or princesses. These actors were never out of character, and even in their public appearances they stayed in the famous roles. Due to this, there were discussions in the media whether the troupe could be considered a posergang or not, however, these statements were heavily criticized by Kabuki enthusiasts.
"Shinobu" Nakagawa was the most popular player in the troupe, and by far the most friendly as well. Nakagawa was known to mingle with the audience after performances, something the other members never did.[2]
After the Night City Holocaust of 2023, Nakagawa stepped up to become the leader of the Night City Co-Prosperity Sphere, leading the community in Japantown to the Watson Development, where the troupe would establish the Nakagawa Kabuki Theater.[1]

Notes[]
- In Night City Sourcebook, the group is named Nakagowa, but in Danger Gal Dossier this was changed to Nakagawa.
