This Minefield is located on the eastern Badlands of Night City.

Overview[]

Delimited by danger signs, this minefield spans a large area of Vasquez Pass, also occupying portions of the Wind Farms and Sierra Sonora. A railway and Interstate 9 safely cross a small portion of the field.[1]

The explosives were manufactured by Militech and are labelled as PDU-5 Mine.

History[]

During Unification War, a portion of the border between Northern and Southern California was dotted by a large number of mines. After the conflict, this minefield remained as a leftover that was never cleared up and which acted as a "natural" border protection.

The mines near the border with Night City were "claimed" to have been disarmed in 2071, but after people were injured by these "disarmed" explosives, most decided to steer clear of the area. All except the smuggling types, who managed to make a number of their routes run through these dangerous fields. It was risky, but worth it too, as due to the mines, no one seriuosly guarded this portion of the border. However Militech still patrolled the area from time to time, sometimes sending Griffin drones to monitor the area.[2]

MINEFIELD

The minefield out in the Badlands is a legacy of wars long past. The mines were never cleared, meaning the field now serves as a "natural" border protection. The only people who know how to cross it safely are smugglers.[2]
