The Mini-Grenade Launcher is a weapon manufactured by Militech in Cyberpunk 2020.
History[]
Around 2018, Militech developed a new grenade projectile that was sixty percent smaller in size (25mm x 70mm), but which had the same range and effect as the standard 40mm grenade. This tech was one of the key pieces for the new M-31a1 AICW rifle that Militech was building around the same time.[1][3]
By 2020, the mini-grenades were still being evaluated, as such they were not yet in regular service, though special-ops units were already using them.[4]
It was around 2022, during the Fourth Corporate War, when the mini-grenades became standard equipment for the Militech troops.[5]
Specifications[]
Militech sold two styles of the weapon, a pump-action launcher and a drum-style launcher. Each used 25mm grenades, but they were able to use 10-gauge shotgun ammunition as well.[1][3]
The first design was a pump-action, shotgun-style launcher with a tube magazine that held four rounds. This version was the one usually mated onto the M-31a1 AICW assault rifle or the Militech 10 submachine gun.[1][3] It could also be attached to weapons outside of Militech, such as the Heckler & Koch HK77UK carabine.[2]
The second design, built on a modified Militech 10 frame, was a large rotary drum with a sixteen-round capacity. This setting allowed a shooter to select between the ammo types that had been loaded. For example, the shooter could fire a tear gas shell, select an HE round, fire it, then select a multiple flechette round, all without the need to reload. This weapon automatically rotated the drum to place the specified type of round into the chamber.
The RoF drops to 1 if the shooter is selecting new ammo types between firings. For mini-grenade munitions: HEP 5D6 (damage is 1/2 real, 1/2 stun-only; armor has no effect and is damaged 2 levels), Fragmentation 2D6+1, Antipersonnel Flechette 1D6AP (1D6+2 hits/shot), Smoke or Tear Gas (5m diameter, see Cyberpunk 2020 for effects). Each round costs 30eb.[1][3]
