The M221 Saratoga is a Power Submachine Gun manufactured by Militech in Cyberpunk 2077.

Characteristics[]

In production since the 2040s, and intended for corporate security forces, the Saratoga is a lightweight, compact assault carbine ideal for close quarters' urban combat and suppressive fire whilst providing a "less than lethal" option for security operators intent on protection as opposed to lethality. It is a "spray and pray" weapon by all combat standards, rattling off an entire magazine in the blink of an eye.

It is possible to install a Short Scope and a Muzzle attachment.

Hansen Armory Phantom Liberty[]

This weapon has a BARGHEST variant modified by Hansen Armory, increasing Armor Penetration by 25%. Additionally, it has 25% increased Headshot Damage Multiplier and 10% increased base damage, at the cost a 10-round reduced magazine size.

MILITECH M221 SARATOGA

Everyone in Night City knows the characteristic rattle of this submachine gun. Designed in the 2040s, Militech intended the Saratoga to be versatile piece in their corporate security arsenal. However, its several undisputed advantages – small frame, light weight, relatively cheap price, ease of use and modifiability – also rendered this SMG a major hit outside the glass towers of Corpo Plaza. Gangs, in particular, took a liking to it. This SMG is the ideal weapon for vehicular and urban combat. But as the average Joes and Janes gain greater access to the Saratoga, corporate security forces will need to equip themselves with a more powerful deterrent...[1]

Notes[]

  • It shares its caption, animations and character rigging with the Arasaka Shigure.
  • Contrary to the firing mode that the SMG is locked to during gameplay, with the in-game media and model having the SMG with three firing modes (Safe, Single, Burst), the fire selector on the trigger group doesn't actually include a mode for fully-automatic firing.
  • Pistol-caliber weapons by Militech appear to be named after events in American military history. In the case of the Saratoga, it appears to be named after the Battles of Saratoga, a pivotal American victory in the American Revolutionary War.
