Attachments and Mods, or Modifications are pieces of equipment that allow you to enhance weaponry in Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.
Overview[]
Attachments can be equipped and unequipped on ranged weaponry only and consist of two slots. The Scope slot allows the attachment of scopes, sights and optics that can each be used by one or many types of firearm to reduce ADS Time (Aim Down Sight time) and increase Range (effective distance of the projectile, not the zoom). The Muzzle slot allows for the attachment of suppressors (aka silencers) that negate audible detection by enemies while firing (along with adding bonuses in the form of stealth damage multiplier and usually crit chance percentage) but also a reduction to overall base damage percentage, while others are your standard muzzle brakes or compensators (that also aid with critical chance , ADS accuracy, and hip fire spread).
Modifications appear in the form of chipsets or additions designed to add or increase specific stats. Modifications can be crafted with Crafting Specs, or looted off of enemies with varied rarities based upon your character level.
Modifications that are installed on weapons cannot be replaced with same or higher quality ones as of Patch 2.0.
