Overview[]
Manila is the biggest and the nastiest city in the New Philippines. Living is cheap here because pretty much everything is recycled. Forbes Park is where the corporates live, while Tondo is the main slum, and Pilar is a red-light district favoured by the Yakuza. To the north of Manila is Smoky Mountain, a massive landfill where the poorest of the poor etch out a living.
Manila has many gangs, which are notable for their tattoos and for ritually scarring themselves after every kill. The biggest gang in the area is Bahala Na Zoku, the "I Don’t Care Club". The police of the city, the Criminal Investigation Service, are greasy and easily bribed.[1]
The Net[]
Manila's portion of the Net is almost exclusively inhabited by government and corporate Netrunners, with SovOil and the Far Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere being in charge. The few destructive Netrunners are usually the angry children of corporates.[1]
