Makigai is a Japanese automotive manufacturer in Cyberpunk.
Overview[]
During the Time of the Red, Makigai was known for its small, low-cost vehicles. By the 2040s, the company was already treading into North America through an alliance with the Night City Co-Prosperity Sphere corporations, an organization of Japanese corps investing in Night City.[1]
By the 2070s, Makigai was one of the most common vehicle brands in the American market. The Japanese manufacturer worked for the past 50 years to reach the status it managed to held by increasing its sales with reasonable prices and efficient mass produced vehicles. Makigai filled the niche for cheap, compact, passenger cars, but it was also known for their vehicles lack of durability and quality.[2]
