Maiko Maeda (Japanese: 前田 舞子) is a character in Cyberpunk 2077.
Biography[]
Maiko Maeda is an associate of the Tyger Claws and works for them as the "unofficial" manager of Clouds. She used to be a doll there, but got promoted. Maiko used to be the output of Judy Álvarez when she worked there. Judy crushed on her hard and Maiko was implied to be borderline manipulative which led to a nasty break up.[1] The two have been estranged and cold to each other ever since, though Maiko stills cares about Judy in some way.
The two would reunite when Judy and V sought to emancipate the dolls from Clouds. Maiko refused to comply but gave them the choice to kill Oswald Forrest for torturing Evelyn Parker and indirectly causing her death. Maiko later agrees to help Judy and her crew by staging a meeting with Hiromi Sato and his bosses, Jun Azegami and Marcus Ichida, in order to kill him. Maiko changes the deal when she and V encounter him with his bosses. Maiko wants to be the new owner of Clouds and rule it autonomously along with providing payments to the Tygers. If V chooses to go along with the deal, Jun will kill Hiromi and the bosses make her the new owner of Clouds. If V does not go along with the plan, the bosses and Hiromi will see them as weak and attack V. After killing them, depending on the dialogue, Maiko might attack V for ruining her plans and V can choose to kill or incapacitate her, or she can accept the new situation though not being happy about it.[3]
If Maiko is alive, she will attend the party at the Black Sapphire alongside high-ranking Tyger Claws.[4]
Database Entry[]
MAIKO MAEDA
Once upon a time a doll like any other at Clouds, through her wit and sheer determination she became the club's unofficial manager after just two years. Maiko knows perfectly well that power is the key to everything in Night City, including its most fundamental benefits – respect, eddies and security. Maiko paid a high price to reach her coveted position – she treats those who don't try to improve their conditions with contempt, but at the same time she seethes at anyone who reached success easier than her.[3]
