The Maglev Tunnel Construction Site is located in the Rocky Ridge plains of the Badlands, directly outside of Night City.

Overview[]

The construction site is embedded in a hill in the upper reaches of the Rocky Ridge plains, bordering on the northern parts of North Oak. The tunnel itself goes underneath Night City, leading directly to Corporate Plaza in the southwest and almost touching the foundations of the new Arasaka Tower.

History[]

The old Maglev Network once connected Night City to many other metropolises in North America, but due to the economic crisis following the unrest and conflict of the Fourth Corporate War, it had been crippled and mostly unused for the next fifty years.

In the mid-late 2070s, Night Corp had begun to revitalize it by constructing a new tunnel to Night City's Corporate Plaza from the Badlands in the northeast, where the line would one day continue east to connect with the East Coast of the New United States of America. Night Corp planned to build the western terminus of the revitalized network in Corporate Plaza's Memorial Park Station.[2] The exit of the tunnel to the east was a large Night Corp construction site which had employed extra help from the Aurochs and Biotechnica companies. In order to ensure and protect the construction of the tunnel, Night Corp hired a subgroup of Militech called "Militech SiteSecure."[1]

In 2077, the construction site could have been assaulted by an Aldecaldos nomad pack led by Saul Bright, Panam Palmer and mercenary V. They attacked the facility in order to gain access to the tunnel and use a TBM to reach the sub-levels of Arasaka Tower, where their objective, Mikoshi, was located.[1]
