Machine Gun is a Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077. It is given by Skippy after a certain amount of time has passed.
Walkthrough[]
After a set amount of time (can be approximately eight in-game days) after Skippy has changed firing modes, he will reveal that he has found data on its previous owner, Regina Jones. The gun will then ask you to return him to her. The mission will be added to you journal even if you decline to follow Skippy's request.
If you ask Regina about Skippy, she will remark that he was stolen, and asks you to set him down so she can run a diagnostics test. After she runs the test, Regina says that either a deeper test is required (if Skippy is set to Stone Cold Killer mode) or she will reset Skippy to his default factory settings and rename him "Daisy" (if Skippy is set to Puppy-Loving Pacifist mode).
You can then ask her where she got Skippy (won in a poker game), or whether V is going to be compensated for their trouble. If Skippy was reset, there is also the option to accuse Regina of killing Skippy. She will dismiss the accusation because the gun has no consciousness. After receiving the reward, the quest ends.

- So, what, You're giving Skippy to Regina? Too bad. Not everyday find a gun you can share your deepest and darkest with. And have it reciprocate, that is. On the other hand, I get you... Already got enough voices in your head, amirite?

Notes[]
- If you decline to bring Skippy to Regina, his dialogue will only consist of him Screaming "no" and "bad user" until he is returned. Even while displayed in V's weapon rack, Skippy will occasionally yell "bad user".
- V's reaction to Regina "killing", i.e., resetting, Skippy is another reference to the ethics of AI and what an artificial personality is. Other missions dealing with this dilemma are Coin Operated Boy or Don't Lose Your Mind.
- Following Patch 2.0, Skippy can now be re-obtained, after receiving a message from Regina, although without the AI. Can no longer have mod slots.
Bugs[]
- This quest can fail during other jobs/locations where you have to empty your inventory of weapons, such as during Automatic Love and Gig: A Lack of Empathy.
