Yuh, the Time of the Red is almost biblical sometimes. A lot of big stuff went down and the world was changed even more than it had been by the Collapse. Me; I see myself as a modern day Homer — you know, the Greek poet. He wrote about how his entire world was blown apart. Well, I do the same thing, only instead of using a harp, I got a synth deck.[1]

Lilayah is a Rockerboy and a close friend of Trace Santiago, both whom during the Time of the Red were part of a group of six edgerunners. She is one of the main characters of the Black Dog story from Cyberpunk RED.
Biography[]
Like a lot of Rockerboys, Lilayah used to call Seattle home; that is until she moved to Night City. She sticks to her roots, though, and plays a style she likes to think of as cybergrunge. Her music pays homage to the greats from her hometown but adds in new styles and sensibilities.
Always looking for inspiration, Lilayah hangs with a group of edgerunners, sometimes helping them pull jobs. After all, she knows she won't change the world if all she does is smile for the camera and make music vids.[2][3]

At some point in 2045, Lilayah could have been contacted by Grace Steel, who called in a favor in exchange for the rockergirl to play during the opening night of the Forlorn Hope, as Lilayah played the drums as well as her keytar. This only if Legacy was not available.[4]

Development[]
Lilayah was created by Mike Pondsmith with the help of Amelia Kołat, one of "The Cyber6" - as Pondsmith likes to think - and community manager for Cyberpunk 2077.[2]
While writing the story, Mike realized it was missing something. Specifically, it was missing a Rockerboy. As a way to help create a new music legend for a new era, the writers of Cyberpunk RED turned to Amelia, who was already an influencer in real life by being the video game's community manager.[3]
- As Mike Pondsmith was working on this story, he realized he needed a Rockerboy to bring it together. That's why he asked Amelia Kołat, a friend whose posts influence hundreds of thousands of people daily, to help him make Lilayah. The grunge was entirely her idea. She's a big fan of it as well as of WoW. Amelia lives in Poland with her gorgeous cat.[2]
