The Kennedys are a gang operating in Night City.
Overview[]
This group was a posergang emulating the Kennedy family of the late 20th century. They did not have any territory, and could be found anywhere in Night City; from the mostly secure City & Corporate District, to the even participating in the Combat Zone.[2] Its members bodysculpted their faces to appear similar to the Kennedys (e.g. JFK, RFJ, Jackie) in order to protect and identify each other, as well as intimidate anyone else. The sight of twenty identical JFKs could be pretty scary. The gang members wore armor under their retro-style 60s clothing, and carried handguns. They could also have some cyberware, though most wore boosted hearing. If they ever listened to someone saying the most minimal thing about their appearance, the Kennedys would take offense and likely go after whoever said something. This group liked to reenact the Kennedy's Hyannisport Weekends, where all four hundred members marched on a location for a weeklong orgy of destruction.[1] By 2020, many suspected the Kennedys' leader was going to run for city mayor in the following elections.[2]
Dr. Bob was a known ripperdoc in Night City, but refused to do facial reconstruction for posergangers. He maintained that this was not a bias against them, but rather a limitation in his training. However, several posergangs — including the Kennedys — who were rejected by him started a contest in which the first person who brought in Dr. Bob's hands would get the body job of their choice; and it was to be paid for by all posers involved.[2] Eventually, at some after 2020, a Kennedy gang member managed to cut his hands, with the ripperdoc beginning to harbor a deep hatred for posergangs.[3]
