Summary[]
The intricate web of alliances and betrayals unravels as Kiwi and Faraday expose Lucy's true identity. Simultaneously, David and the crew prepare for a high-stakes mission that promises to elevate their status as formidable edgerunners, testing their mettle against Arasaka.
Against the barren backdrop of the Badlands, David and his crew survey the Arasaka convoy earmarked for a daring heist. The anticipation is palpable among the crew, a mix of anxiety and excitement fueled by the prospect of confronting a megacorporation.
Kiwi, harboring the knowledge of her recent betrayal, joins the crew, and the narrative flashes back to the orchestrated capture of Lucy by Faraday. Lucy's actions, erasing David's files and sacrificing Maine and Dorio, were revealed as attempts to protect him from Arasaka's designs on turning him into a lab subject for the Sandevistan.
Faraday and Kiwi discuss Lucy's past as a child netrunner for Arasaka, highlighting her sacrifices and the extent to which she went to shield David. The crew, unbeknownst to David, eagerly accepts the upcoming heist. However, Becca notices David's deteriorating state and promises to keep his struggles a secret.
On the desert highway, Faraday's plan unfolds as another gang, unwittingly part of the scheme, ambushes the Arasaka convoy. David's crew engages the remaining convoy, leading to a thrilling vehicular confrontation against Arasaka security.
However, the heist takes an unexpected turn when the cargo truck is revealed to be impenetrable, designed to test David with Arasaka's advanced cyber exoskeleton. Militech forces intervene, forcing David to don the cyberskeleton and confront the onslaught.
The ensuing battle showcases the capabilities of the advanced suit, turning David into a formidable force against Militech's elite. Becca and Falco witness the carnage, marveling at the exoskeleton's power while recognizing the strain on David's neural faculties.
As David triumphs over Militech, he vows to track down and confront Faraday to rescue Lucy, setting the stage for the ultimate showdown in the series finale.
