- The Hitachi-Kenmore Appliance Mod is a type of self-contained appliance module. The Appliance Mod is about the size of 2 large milk crates stacked, the unit contains a microwave, fridge and some storage. The unit is powered by self contained batteries with built in solar panels, the unit can run up to 4 hours before having to be plugged in or charged.[1]
