I've always maintained it's the same for all you termites in Heywood. Born here, live here, die here. [...] Truth hurts, huh? Just watch your tone - I'm not a patient man.
— Stints to V, Cyberpunk 2077
Henry Stints is an NCPD inspector in Night City.
Biography[]
Henry Stints was born and raised in the Heywood District of Night City. He eventually joined the NCPD as an officer. Soon enough Stints arrived at the conclusion that the conflicting citizens who were born and lived in Heywood, would also eventually die there.
Henry managed to rise through the NCPD ranks, eventually becoming an inspector. During those years, he encountered and detained Jackie Welles more than once, to the point they've known each other for a while.
In the last months of 2076, during the Streetkid lifepath, Inspector Stints and his crew arrested V and Jackie Welles when they were trying to steal a luxurious car from a parking garage in Embers, The Glen. Henry recognized Jackie from the old days, and to their surprise, V too. Stints had been investigating V for a while, knowing they had been living in Atlanta for the past two years, "lookin' for a slice of happiness" in his own words, though they had returned to NC after it didn't work out. It was then when the owner of the car appeared; a high-ranking Arasaka corporate named Kaoru Fujioka. Stints was not pleased at seeing him. The inspector tried keep on with the procedures and bring the arrested to the precinct, but for Fujioka it was a waste of effort as he didn't have time to testify nor "play" at an investigation. He suggested Stints break their legs and toss them in the sea before leaving the area. The inspector ordered his people to do what the corpo had said.
Despite the order, Stints' people only bruised the pair and left them in a back-alley. V and Jackie pondered on the reason why Stints let them be, thinking he still had some little sense of honor left. They also assumed that, by being born and bred in Heywood, Stints cared to a extent about them despite being criminals, so he preferred to let them free rather than following the corpos orders to kill them. It was also likely Henry didn't like the corporates either, as the majority of the Heywood citizens loathed them.[1]
