The Hacienda Hotel[1] is luxury hotel & casino located in the Charter Hill district of Night City.
History[]
2010s[]
May 20 2015, Isabel and Andrew at the opening of the Hacienda
Right after the Mob War ended in 2011 and the mafia was cleared from much of Night City, land in Charter Hill was going cheap. Isabel Vargas saw an opportunity and bought a run-down apartment block, then demolished it and begun building the Hacienda Hotel. In these early days, the hotel was besieged by gangs, so Isabel hired a notable solo known as Andrew Scythe to run her security force. Scythe built it into a small army of well trained men and effectively protected the hotel's grounds.
In May 20 2015, the hotel was finally finished and an opening ceremony was celebrated, with the building becoming the only true hotel-casino in Night City. Over the next five years, the glamour and money of the Hacienda Hotel, plus the development Hydrosubsidium was doing in the district, turned Charter Hill from one of the most dangerous areas in the city into one of the more pleasant and secure locations in the metropolis. This caused more and more wealthy people to visit the district and the Hacienda, whose reputation begun to skyrocket.[2]
2020s[]
By 2020, the four-star Hacienda Hotel was famous around the world, and only the most wealthy could afford to stay here. It was rumored that millions of eurodollars changed hands on the casino floor every day. Despite how secure the district was, Andrew Scythe kept safeguarding the Hacienda, which was known by everyone as one of the most well-protected places in the entire city. Andrew was very capable and very harsh with offenders, and he was the reason gangs citywide had declared Charter Hill neutral territory. Described as having an intoxicating atmosphere, most of the hotel's clientele during this era were high level corporates and wealthy powerdealers flying in from Europe just to spend the weekend here. While it was one of the most expensive places to stay in Night City, those who had spent money here had never regretted it.
Since Charter Hill was considered no-man's land by the city gangs, they usually used the district as a neutral meeting point to resolve their disputes. Both the Hilton and the Hacienda took opportunity of this by making the gangs use the hotels services.
The hospitality of the Hacienda was legendary, and the security force saw to it that nothing disturbed this. There was both a dress and behavior code enforced; if a guest wished to indulge in illegal activities, they had best to do it in the privacy of their own suite. Even the hostesses were hand-picked by Isabel herself, for grace and charm as well as beauty.[2]
Hacienda Security[]
The the security of the Hacienda Hotel was a private force tasked with guarding the hotel and any related facilities.
In 2020, the Hacienda security was known to be one of the finest non-corporate forces in Night City. This success was due to the intense training each member received, and a strong personal loyalty to Andrew Scythe, who had hand-picked and personally trained every single one of them. This force, in combination to the fortune Isabel Vargas had invested in them, allowed the Hacienda Hotel to be one of the most secured buildings in the city.[2]
Layout & Overview[]

The Hacienda Hotel was located in a roundabout in Charter Hill; the main building occupied the southwestern portion of the roundabout, while smaller buildings and greenspaces occupied the rest. The hotel was one of the most luxurious in Night City, and the only one to include a large casino. The facilities also included beautiful gardens, wondrous food, multiple rooms, luxury apartments and more. The neighboring restaurant Casa de Sevilla was a subsidiary of the Hacienda, and served the best Spanish food in Night City. Both establishments were connected by an underground tunnel for use in shuttling food and people from one building to the other.
The hotel had landing pads on the main building's roof, and a separate parking garage which the Hacienda security was tasked to protect. The parking was shared with the neighboring Night City Hilton.
The hotel had a unique service called the Hacienda Special, which was an armed and armored charter that ran to the Metropolitan Airport and back every three hours, picking up influential guests.[2]
