Guăngbō Tower (formerly the offices of KLIA) is located in the Little China district of central Night City.
History[]
Early history - 2020s[]
Prior to the Fourth Corporate War, this building was used as the offices and broadcast station of 99.2 KLIA, an old radio station in Night City that broadcasted news and radio drama. Over the following years since the war, the skyscraper was abandoned by KLIA, and it was eventually incorporated into the Little China Combat Zone.[1]
2040s[]
In 2044, while in their quest to revitalize the district, the Little China Redevelopment Association bought the old KLIA office building with the intention of refurbishing it. The structure was very run down, but the LCRA begun to work on it nonetheless, soon renaming it to Guăngbō Tower.[1]
By 2045, the tall skyscraper was still in a similar shape, but thanks to the rehabilitation project, around twenty new tenants had moved in, most of which were organizations and businesses. They set up a medical clinic, a public library, an arcade, and a variety of smaller establishments.[1] With this new lease on life, Guăngbō Tower soon became a symbol of the district's aspirations for the future.[2] Unbeknownst to the LCRA, however, that same year the Virtex's Virtuality Venue arcade (located on top floor) was turned into the base of operations for the Reaper, a rogue AI that had also killed all staff members from the establishment. A group of mercenaries managed to foil the AI plans there, and liberated the area from his control.[1]
Layout[]
In 2045, Guăngbō Tower was an old thirty story-tall skyscraper. Most of the building lied derelict, and the ventilation system didn't work properly, but the process of rehabilitation was ongoing, with tenants occupying only thirteen of the thirty floors.[1]
Floor 01: Lobby[]
Behind the entrance doors was a large lobby with holo-scenes on the walls that showed ancient Chinese landscape, and speakers that played inoffensive older Cantopop. Stairs and elevators were located in this area. The lobby had a front desk where a receptionist could direct and explain visitors about the tower's different businesses.
Floor 02[]

Floor 03[]
A medical clinic was located on the third floor.
Floor 09[]
Occupied by small businesses.
Floor 10: Ling Po Public Library[]
This floor contained the Ling Po Public Library, which was financed by city manager David Ling Po. The LCRA named the new establishment after him, representing his investment in the future of Little China. The library offered many services to the community, but it was only accessible to the district's residents.
Floor 15[]
Occupied by small businesses.
Floor 23[]
Occupied by small businesses.
Floor 30: Virtex's Virtuality Venue[]
Located on the top floor, Virtex's Virtuality Venue was one of the most popular attractions in the district. It offered a mixture of new and classic games. Unfortunately, in 2045 it was closed for renovations. This floor housed the control center for the radio transmitter on the top of the tower.
Trivia[]
- "Guăngbō" (廣播) translates to "Broadcast" in Chinese, a reference to the tower's former role as a broadcast station.
