Flying Drugs is a gig in Cyberpunk 2077.
Walkthrough[]
You are contracted to investigate the cause of the disappearance of a smuggler's drones, and is directed to Union Railroad, an old railway station that is occupied by the Wraiths. The station is heavily guarded, with Wraiths both inside and outside the station's main building, automated turrets guarding the gateways, and cameras watching most of the grounds. Arriving at the station will prompt V to figure out how the drones are being intercepted, which can be done in two different ways.
The first method requires an Intelligence rank of 7. Enter the building, look for a computer on the ground floor, and pass the Intelligence skill check to hack it. Once hacked, go to the messages tab to discover the rooftop transmission antenna has been reprogrammed to broadcast a virus that disables the propulsion systems of drones that come within range, allowing the Wraiths to steal their cargo. V is directed to the roof to disable the antenna.
The second method is to ignore the computer and proceed straight to the roof to examine the antenna. Johnny Silverhand will appear and point out that the antenna is obviously being used to down the drones.
Disabling the antenna can be achieved by either destroying it with a weapon, which will alert any remaining guards and security systems on the premises, or by having a Technical Ability rank of 10, which lets V cut the antenna's power and stay undetected. Lastly, leave the area to complete the gig.
There is an alternative way to complete the gig. As a netrunner, it is possible to destroy the antenna without ever entering the compound:
- Use a Tier 5 Ping on one of the guards and wait for the antenna to be highlighted, or
- Take control of the surveillance camera at the very top of the tower, which will give a direct view of the antenna.
Hack the antenna with an Initiate Overload command to destroy it. Dakota will have a unique line if the antenna is destroyed in this manner.
Journal Entry[]
- A good friend of mine, Mosquito, is running an op in the Badlands. He packs a chem shipment in a drone and sends it off to the city, then when he gets his eddies wired, he slices off a piece for me. The problem now is those drones aren't making roost at their destinations. Someone's plucking them out of the sky along the way.
- We sent the last drone with a GPS tag. The thieves took the bait and we're getting pinged from the transmitter. You follow that ping then make sure Mosquito's birds can fly free once again.
Objectives[]
- Go to the signal source.
- Find out how the drones were intercepted.
- Destroy the antenna.
- Leave the outpost.
