Family Matters is a gig in Cyberpunk 2077.
Walkthrough[]
V is instructed by El Capitán to visit the residence of Juliet Horrigan, one of his favorite netrunners. Juliet regularly provides him with stolen data from Zetatech, but she has not been heard from since her last heist two weeks ago. V's priority is retrieving Juliet's latest score, but the fixer is also a little concerned about why she went silent so abruptly.
The Horrigan residence has three entrances. Opening the front door requires a Technical Ability check, and opening the back door requires a Body check, but if you lack sufficient levels in both you can climb onto the front roof and enter through an open window into the upstairs bathroom. Once inside, investigate the first and second floors to find a locked safe, where Juliet's data shard is kept, and traces of something terrible that happened. Upon inspecting the safe, you will be prompted to search for the access key, and by this time there is only one place it could be: the basement. If you have checked the computer near the safe, you can access a surveillance camera in the basement that reveals Juliet has been killed by her sister, Rose Horrigan, who has fallen victim to cyberpsychosis.
Juliet's tragic fate can be surmised from the evidence throughout the house. Her sister Rose had implanted a large amount of cyberware for her job, but she was fired and moved in with Juliet and her husband, Cy. Over time, Rose fell ill and began exhibiting symptoms of cyberpsychosis. Juliet tried to cure her sister by giving her high-end painkillers and antipsychotics, but Rose required larger and larger doses to stay lucid. Juliet even consulted with Viktor Vektor, but Rose was too far gone to help and he could only suggest contacting MaxTac to take her in before she became a danger to everyone around her. After Rose broke Cy's arm, he left for the Sunset Motel for his own safety, but Juliet refused to go with him and continued to care for her sister. A month later, Rose became convinced that Juliet was poisoning her and stabbed her sister in the back.
Rose still wanders the basement of the house, where Juliet's body and the safe access key can be found. V's only option is to neutralize Rose. After retrieving the access key near Juliet's body, V returns to the safe, and opens it to recover the shard.
After V tells El Capitán what happened, he is saddened by Juliet's death, and shocked to learn that she had a sister.
Journal Entry[]
- I like everyone to know I'm patient, understanding. I realize there's a time for work and a time for family. Without a good work-life balance we'd all blast our brains out. I get it, I do. But... disappearing for 2 weeks cuz of "family issues?" That how Juliet thinks of me? How much she respects me? I love her cuz she's ripped so much nova data outta Zetatech for me, but man she's starting to hurt my feelings, you know?
- Go to her place, see what her deal is. But remember - #1 priority is that data she still owes me. Juliet's nova and all, but if she's got a problem with that, well... like I said, data is prio #1.

Trivia[]
- Lidocaine and betahaloperidol are the two drugs found being used on Rose. Lidocaine is actually a local anesthetic and is not used for painkilling. Betahaloperidol on the other hand, is a fictional drug likely based on haloperidol, a real life antipsychotic, and is widely used in the Cyberpunk world, in attempts to cure individuals experiencing cyberpsychosis.
