Gig: Bring Me the Head of Gustavo Orta is a gig in Cyberpunk 2077.
Walkthrough[]
V is contracted to assassinate Gustavo Orta, a high-ranking Valentino, after his girlfriend Martha Frakes, the daughter of 6th Street member Nolan Frakes, was shot and put into a coma. Nolan blamed Gustavo and reached out to Padre to exact justice for his daughter. At Gustavo's apartment building, take the elevator to the 32nd floor. The hallway area outside Gustavo's apartment has some points of interest. First is a neutral surveillance camera that is linked to two more cameras inside Gustavo's apartment, which should be helpful for stealthy netrunners to scope out the interior. Second is a utility closet that can be unlocked with 9 Technical Ability to reveal a small trove of loot. Third is the entrance to Gustavo's apartment, which can only be opened with 17 Body or by quickhacking the keypad to the door's left; be warned that prying open the door will instantly alert all of the apartment's occupants. Lastly is a large shutter that opens onto a narrow catwalk outside the building, from which V can reach the lower and upper balconies of the apartment.
To carry out the hit, reach Gustavo Orta in his office on the apartment's second floor. Gustavo can either be killed or incapacitated and carried to a car waiting outside to complete the gig.
Alternatively, the gig can be completed nonviolently, either by jumping onto the upper balcony and sneaking into Gustavo's office, or by ringing the doorbell and answering correctly with the Streetkid (Lifepath) (the guard opening the door for V will point out that Gustavo is upstairs). If V has not harmed anyone in the apartment or been noticed, Gustavo will engage V in conversation and explain the circumstances of Martha's injury. Martha disliked her father and ran away from him to be with Gustavo. Later, Gustavo's car was ambushed by 6th Street when he was with Martha. During the ensuing shootout, Gustavo survived unscathed, but Martha was caught in the crossfire. Nolan did not truly care about his daughter, but hated Gustavo for taking her from him and used her injury as justification to have Gustavo killed. V can choose to spare Gustavo by telling him to leave Night City. He is reluctant to abandon Martha, but agrees to go when V points out that Martha will never be safe as long as she is together with him. He gives V safe passage out of his apartment (If V attempts to read any computers or hack any access points in the apartment while being watched by Gustavo and or his henchmen, they will turn hostile. However, if V hacks an access point unnoticed, they will not turn hostile). Exit the building and head to the dropbox to receive payment. Padre then calls to inform V that Gustavo committed suicide, but he assumes that V somehow made Gustavo do it and is impressed by the feat. V can then return to Gustavo's apartment to loot his body for a note and other items.
Journal Entry[]
- The world is built on certain rules. Rules that don't appear out of nothing - which grew from the blood and mistakes of our predecessors. These rules are meant to protect us, but they young disregard them. They believe they are special, that they are not held to the same rules, that rate is theirs to tempt.
- Martha Frakes believed the same and now sleeps in a coma after taking a bullet to the head. The streets tell me this is her punishment for abandoning family. The girl turned from her own father, Nolan Frakes, to side with the enemy - Gustavo Orta.
- But what the street says doesn't matter - not to Nolan. He believes Gustavo is solely responsible for what happened to his daughter. Let's fulfill the wish of a father desperate for revenge. He's paying, after all.
- Go to Gustavo's apartment. Deal with him. Don't worry about authorization. My netrunner made sure you don't run into any problems.
- And FYI - if you hadn't caught on yet - Gustavo is Valentinos, Nolan is 6th Street. Stay sharp.
