Dupre is decryption program with sophisticated AI routines. It acts on code gates and file locks in much the same way as Raffles, except that the first time it's used it only has a Strength of 1. However, it learns from the solutions, working out the code style used by a particular person or organization. This means that its strength increases by one for every successful use within a system, up to a maximum Strength of 8. At the referee's discretion, some systems may have no pattern, in which case there is no increase. The increased strength is lost if the program is used against a different system, as it only has limited memory.
This program was written by Dr. Fortesque, a Eurorunner with a rep for doing things very neatly and cleanly, even at the cost of increased risk. He would never use Codecracker as a way through code gates, seeing it as crude; this program reflects his style.
