Cynosure Site C,[1] known in-game simply as the Cynosure Facility, is an abandoned underground research facility that originally belonged to Militech. This was the main site for Project Cynosure, while Site D was a reloading station.[1]
History[]
2010s[]
Project Cynosure was developed in this underground facility known as Cynosure Site C. It was located beneath Night City's Pacifica district, where experiments were conducted in honing this tool for Militech-affiliated netrunners to utilize in the depths of the NET.[citation needed]
2060s[]
The DataKrash was not the end of Project Cynosure, even though Militech on the surface shuttered the old research facility beneath Pacifica. In the mid-late 2060s, Militech sent a research group to both Site C and D.[citation needed]
2077[]
In 2077, three Wraiths associated with the Raffen Shiv, named Misha, Tanny and Rob, tried to break into the bunker's main entrance.[2]
Layout[]
Bunker[]
By 2077, there is no direct access to the Cynosure Facility, as it is located deep underground and hidden. Access in-game is allowed via a hole created by a crashed truck and then diving down into a flooded shaft.
Sector 1[]
Sector 1 is accessed by descending via elevator to Restricted Area A. Passing through Sector 1 leads to Sector 2 by Administration.
Sector 2[]
Sector 2 is accessed via Administration, and controls access via a sealable gate to Sector 3. Sector 2 has five main areas accessed via the hallway. There are multiple Site Map shards and directories along the walls to aid in navigation.
Administration[]
- Controls access between Sectors 1 and 2.
Living Quarters[]
- Holds bunks and a cafeteria for facility workers.
Server Room[]
- Dataterminals Alpha and Bravo are found here.
Engineering[]
- Dataterminal Sierra is found here and houses two subareas.
- Maintenance
- Here, the Militech Cerberus maintenance units were maintained. Two Cerberus units can be found dismantled, their core removed.
- The Crafting Spec: Erebus can be found here.
- This room also allows access to the ceiling ventilation shafts.
- The door panel is initially disabled, preventing entry.
- Storage
- This room houses miscellaneous items. On the back wall is a distribution box that can be rewired (20 Technical Ability check) to restore access to Maintenance.
Security[]
- This area is divided into three parts, and Dataterminal Victor can be found in the last area (furthest from the entrance) alongside multiple workstations and monitors.
Sector 3[]
Sterile Area[]
- This area is found towards the entrance of Sector 3 from Sector 2. Entering and leaving this area requires passing through an airlock and undergoing a sterilization cycle.
Core Control[]
- Its terminal allows access to the facility's core and initiates shutdown of the core subsystems.
Labs[]
- Here are multiple research areas and rooms housing the core's subsystems.
- Neural Network Control
- Neural Network subsystem can be found here.
- Data Analysis & Research
- Experimental Prototyping
- Requires door access code 714212, found copies of data shard New Security Protocols at R&D found in Sector 3.
- Houses the Crafting Spec: Militech Canto, unlocks the Blackwall Gateway quickhack.
- Observation Room
- A larger hub area with a holographic projection of the core. Inside are the entrances to Datafort Central Command and Thermic Control
- Datafort Central Command
- This area is divided into three parts, with a terminal controlling the subsystem in the last area (further from the entrance).
- Thermic Control
- Holds the Thermic Control subsystem.
