Chippin' In is a song performed by the band Samurai.
Background[]
Originally written and composed by Johnny Silverhand - which he sung in 2013 before his assault on Arasaka Tower - "Chippin' In" was part of his 2013 album A Cool Metal Fire,[2] though in 2020 a new version with the rest of Samurai was recorded.[1]
In 2022, Kerry Eurodyne made a cover of the original song, making the melody more pop-punk, becoming an instant hit.
By 2077, the Samurai version was usually played on 107.3 Morro Rock Radio.

Samurai version[]
"Refused have released a galloping new tune called "Chippin' In," but the post-hardcore barn burner isn't from the Swedish punk pioneers' upcoming effort, their expected second album since last reuniting five years ago. No, it's from the soundtrack of a new video game called Cyberpunk 2077, and it's not even technically a tune by Refused. It's being presented as a song by their musical alter-ego outfit, Samurai, a seemingly virtual band the quartet created with the developer behind the game, CD Projekt. But that doesn't mean a new Refused record isn't just around the corner. Maybe." - Loudwire interview
The band's collaboration with CD Projekt Red was officially revealed on 2nd of July 2019, when the entire song was uploaded for fans to hear.
Game sound files with radio host Maximum Mike introduce the Refused song as "the Riot version."
Original version & Eurodyne cover[]
The original lyrics of the song which appear in the original Never Fade Away adventure, and the rulebook cover page of Cyberpunk 2020, as well as in the Cyberpunk 2077 2018 gameplay trailer, were referred to as being sung and written by Johnny Silverhand. However, the full videogame soundtrack lists it as an Eurodyne cover of the song. Additionally, the Samurai version has different lyrics and is stated to have been released prior to Eurodyne's cover in the Cyberpunk 2077 lore. This could have been either an overlook, an intentional change, or simply Samurai made another version of the first song.
In December 2020, it was published by CDPR under the album title Cyberpunk 2077: Radio, Vol. 3.
The song is performed by Damian Ukeje, who is known as a prolific singer, songwriter, and composer from Poland.

Notes[]
- Kerry's "Chippin' In" is not played on the Cyberpunk 2077 radio stations, but it can be heard being performed by him in the interlude quest Love Like Fire.
- At the start of Act 1, after sleeping in the bed, Chippin' In is played on 89.3 RADIO VEXELSTROM. This is the only occasion when it is played on a different channel than 107.3 Morro Rock Radio.
- Some time after completing Boat Drinks, Kerry Eurodyne drops off a record player with one of only a dozen vinyls with his cover of Chippin' In at V's Apartment. Kerry leaves a message on V's computer explaining the gift. The record player cannot be interacted with and does not actually play any music.
