Chatelaine's is a cabaret located in the New Westbrook suburb of Night City.
Overview[]
Chatelaine's was established during the Time of the Red as an atmospheric old cabaret club decorated and designed to look like it came out of the 1930s. The mirrors were scratched by hand and hazed with airbrushed pigment to look smoky and stained, while the synthetic floors were treated to look like scuffed wood. All staff dressed in period costumes as well. Regularly visited by the queer community of Night City, customers liked the brand of heart-rending torch music played in Chatelaine's, and the club became so popular that it also managed to attract a number of straight visitors.[1][2]
Being one of the more popular gay bars in the city, Chatelaine's had a Friday Burlesque Night and a Saturday Drag Fest, though some nights things went so far that they held more heterosexual tourists than actual queer customers. This led to some concerns, starting rumors that the club had "sold out," and causing local gangs such as the Street Queens to began shunning Chatelaine's Drag Fests. Owner and proprietor Lulu deLuz remained supportive of queer concerns, however, and allowed young homeless queer people to sleep in the club's office space while she arranged for emergency housing for them. Aunt Kevin, the club's bartender, was a renowned member of the community and a major influence in the bar scene.[1]
