Burroughs Municipal Library was located in the City Center of Central Night City.
Overview[]
This infrastructure was the municipal library of Night City. The library itself was an aggregate of buildings in several architectural styles, and it was one of the very few parts of the City Center that showed a lack of foresight and planning. Despite this handicap, the library was very well organized, and had an extensive collection. By far the most impressive asset were the CD-ROM stacks, which had digital copies of every major newspaper and magazine since the turn of the millennium. This was accessed only through the library rental terminals, which were able to browse and print out copies (0.50eb per page charge). Extensive computer security hardware and software ensured that the stored data was untampered with.
In 2019, to celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of Night City's founding, the city's Historical Society requested Night City University to prepare a brief, but complete historical reference for the municipal library's system database. NCU Dean Edward Michaels wrote this article.
Stacey Makida was the head librarian in 2020, and knew extensively about the city's past. From time to time, there were limited art showcases here as well.
A branch of the municipal library could be found in the West Hill district.[1]
Notes[]
- In Cyberpunk 2013: Welcome to Night City it was simply known as City Library.[2]
