Blistering Love[Notes 1] is a Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077.

The quest can be given by Johnny Silverhand after Chippin' In if specific dialogue choices were made.

Choosing "A hard road, but looks like we made it." followed by "Johnny, no need to bare your soul to me.", or the Secret Ending dialogue options will start this quest. Other options will lead to Holdin' On.

Reason: Needs a more information about what happens after each dialogue choice

Johnny will ask V to call Rogue and ask her out on his behalf, to try and make up for never taking her out properly in the past. As V calls Rogue, V asks her where she would want to go if the two went on a date, which she answers with the old drive-in movie theater named Silver Pixel Cloud in North Oak. V says they'll swing by the Afterlife to pick her up.

If the current time is not in the evening:

Rogue sends V a text message informing them that she is currently engaged with other things and asks that they come in evening.

V meets Rogue at the Afterlife during the evening, where she can be seen talking with Emmerick Bronson—who appears to be disappointed Rogue is going out on a date with V.

If V obtained the Porsche 911 Turbo (930):

Rogue asks V how they obtained the car and will remark on having a lot of memories in the car.[Notes 2]

Rogue and V get in the car and drive to the theater. During the ride, Rogue tells V that it was originally her idea to take Johnny to the movie theater, and that Johnny's idea of a romantic night out was raiding Arasaka Towers. After a while she will ask what Johnny's motive is, to which V will reply that Johnny has changed and is a more selfless person, and wants to make up for his past.

Arriving at the Silver Pixel Cloud, they discover that the place has been shut down and locked up. V searches around and finds a usable access code on the nearby terminal and is able to open the door.[Notes 3]

Inside the cinema premises, Rogue will walk over to a nearby car wreck, while V goes up a staircase to reach the projector room. When V starts up the projector, which will play Bushidō X: Fade to Black, they subsequently surrender control to Johnny by taking the Pseudoendotrizine.

Johnny heads down the stairs and sits next to Rogue on the car and reminisces about the past while they watch the movie. After a while, Johnny asks Rogue if this is how she'd imagine a date between them going, to which she replies that she'd always expected that some change was needed, just not to the current degree. She asks Johnny to pretend it is 2015, and asks if there is anything he would change since then.[Notes 4] Johnny answers her question, which causes her to become emotional and think about what ifs and all that.

If Johnny kisses Rogue:

A short romantic scene will play out between Rogue and Johnny, but Rogue interrupts it as it doesn't feel right. She confesses to Johnny that she is no longer the same person as she was before and that is just isn't going to work anymore. Rogue will promptly leave the drive-in theater, as Johnny gives back control to V by taking an Omega blocker.

If Johnny tells Rogue he doesn't have much to offer:

Johnny tells Rogue that he doesn't have much to offer right now, to which she replies that he has more to offer now than he did back then. Johnny admits that he messed up, and that he could have just been himself around her, without having to pretend or pose. Rogue responds to this by telling Johnny that it is too late now and that she's no longer the Rogue he knew back in 2015. She suggests that they just continue watching the movie, after which Rogue will leave, and Johnny will give back control to V by taking an Omega blocker.

After Rogue's departure, Johnny asks that V meet with Kerry Eurodyne.

Journal Entry[]

Can't even remember why Rogue and I were always at each other's throats. All I remember is the good times - and how few of them there were. Now I've got one night to make it up to her. Yeah, a movie date sounds boring, but hell, we never did normal, boring things. Better late than never, right?

Objectives[]

  • Call Rogue and ask her out.
  • Talk to Rogue.

If it is not evening:

  • Go pick up Rogue at the Afterlife in the evening.
  • Wait until evening.

  • Talk to Rogue.
  • Get in the car.
  • Go to the drive-in movie theater with Rogue.
  • Talk to Rogue.
  • Find a way in the drive-in movie theater.
    • Use code 0000 to unlock the door.
  • Enter the drive-in movie theater.
  • Get into the projection booth.
  • Search the storage area.
  • Take the pills to give Johnny control.
  • Talk to Johnny.

Notes[]

  1. The title of this job comes from the in-universe Samurai song "Blistering Love.
  2. The vehicle is automatically called if it has been obtained during Chippin' In.
  3. The door authorization code is 0000.
  4. Rogue asking Johnny to pretend it is 2015 is likely an error or a test from Rogue, as Rogue and Johnny already had met at that time.
