Overview[]
This gigantic building is Biotechnica's regional headquarters in Night City.[1] Like the other major office buildings in Corporate Plaza, it is accessed via a bridge from Memorial Park.[2]
Biotechnica's building is almost as big as the nearby Militech Offices, expanding northwest from its main entrance until almost touching the nearby edifices. The most impressive structure, however, has to be the skybridge that connects the main tower in Corporate Plaza to another building in Wellsprings to the west, crossing over parts of the Glen until reaching the northeastern area of Wellsprings.[2]
History[]
When reconstruction of Corporate Plaza begun in 2052, many megacorporations around Night City planned to move their new headquarters there.[1]
At some point prior to 2075, netrunner Sasha Yakovleva got a gig to extract Biotechnica's secret financial records on CHOOH2 and information on a new immunosuppressant prototype 0.091. Helped by her crewmate Maine, Sasha managed to infiltrate the Biotechnica regional headquarters of Night City. After reaching an office, she connected to the building's database and once she found what she was looking for, she sent Maine the extracted data for the gig. While doing so, Sasha discovered confidential files on Securicine — the painkillers her mother used while she was sick and which eventually led to her death. The main side effect of the painkiller included gradual neurodegeneration and, despite this being known, Biotechnica decided that Securicine was too profitable and would not be pulled from the market. Sasha, determined to do right by her mother, started to upload the entire Securicine database file to the Network 54 News tipline. Sasha was discovered, but she trenched herself in the office to make sure the uploading was completed. Knowing she was not going make it out alive, she prepared a set of explosives and cut off the connection line with Maine. Sasha managed to fully send the information to N54, but was shot and sent through the office's window, prompting the explosives to activate and destroy the room she was in. Her body fell down onto the roof of a passing car and was soon found by Maine.[3]
In 2077, the Biotechnica building in Corporate Plaza still stood as an imposing megastructure in Night City.[2]
