Argus Inc. is a corporation in the Cyberpunk universe.
Overview[]
Headquartered at the Barbican Building in Night City, Argus is a company that specializes in computer and netrunning software. Well regarded by that community, programs from Argus are considered some of the most reliable.[1]
History[]
Argus was founded by Livewire at some point between 2011 and 2013. Considered one of the most renowned netrunners in the world, in 2013 Livewire had a small shop located in a backroom of the Short Circuit bar at the top floor of the Barbican Building. Not many people knew he was there, so Livewire was able to work in peace. He used that small establishment to buy and sell netrunning programs, and if anyone needed something more specific, he was glad to craft it for a price. His skills were superb, and soon his small shop became a notable software manufacturer. Livewire bought the rest of the Barbican Building and established the headquarters of his corporation there. The Short Circuit bar continued to function, though Livewire forbid the company from recruiting anyone from there, as he had trust issues with corporations or people related to them, including his own corp. Livewire wanted the bar to be kept out of any corporate business.[2][1]
The company contracted the services of the Silver Slash guardian gang to protect their premises in Night City.
By 2020, Argus had managed to gain a good reputation, with their programs being considered some of the most reliable on the market. That same year, the company focused their attention on developing applications for the many medical facilities in Night City.[1]
