The Shigure (Japanese: 時雨) is a Power Submachine Gun manufactured by Arasaka in Cyberpunk 2077.

Characteristics[]

Created at some point in the early 21st century, the Shigure is a simple, reliable, assault carbine with a high fire rate and a 30-round magazine. It comes equipped with standard iron sights.

It was mostly used by members of Arasaka's security detail in the early 2020s, and is still a staple firearm amongst Arasaka's private contractors and numerous gangs throughout Night City in 2077.

In the 2040s, Militech developed a more modern version of the Shigure, the M221 Saratoga.[1]

It is possible to install a Short Scope and Muzzle attachment.

ARASAKA SHIGURE

Sometimes accuracy isn't all-important. Sometimes all you want to do is spray lead and witness the havoc wreaked once the smoke has cleared. In that case, seek no further than the Shigure. This submachine gun from the early 21st century might be getting on in years, and it might not have the firepower of more recent models, but – and this is no exaggeration – it can unload more bullets in one minute than all of Arasaka's unprosecuted counts of tax fraud. Meaning a lot.[2]

Variants[]

Notes[]

  • It has the same caption as the Militech M221 Saratoga, and a similar overall design.
  • The fire selector setup on the trigger group of the SMG suggests that there are three firing modes on the Shigure; safe (single white dot), semi-automatic (single red dot) and full-automatic (three red dots). During gameplay, the firing mode is always set to the three red dots.
  • Shigure means 'drizzle' in Japanese and refers to a rain shower in-between autumn and winter. It could also figuratively mean shedding tears.
