Alena Xenakis,[1] also known as Alex, is a character in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.
Biography[]
Alena grew up in the slums of the Los Angeles Metroplex, and following her dream, she became an aspiring braindance actress. Unknown to her, the braindance studio she joined was a front for the Federal Intelligence Agency. Her formidable acting skills impressed them enough that she was recruited by Solomon Reed. Ever since, she has worked with the FIA in many covert operations, becoming a talented shapeshifter.[1][2]
At some point after the Unification War, Alex was placed in Dogtown as an undercover agent.[2]
In 2077, Alex worked with mercenary V while in Dogtown.[3]
If Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos quest happens:
- When V tried to betray Songbird, she noticed and warned Kurt Hansen about the impostors. Moments later Kurt executed Alex.[4] After the events of Somewhat Damaged, the NUSA recovered her body and was sent to be interred at her home. Solomon Reed thought that given Alex's service record in Night City, he felt the right thing to do was to leave behind a memorial at the North Oak Columbarium. Her niche's epitaph reads: "Not the retirement you dreamed of... but the kind that fate dealt. I hope you can forgive me. And thanks for everything."[5]
If The Killing Moon quest happens and Reed is killed:
- A few days after the incident at NCX Spaceport, Alex met V at her bar and informed them that she had been put to the task of eliminating V. She was, however, perfectly willing to wait for their timer to run out, as she assumed they only had a few months of life left. She also informed V that the FIA was pulling their agents out of NC, with her being permanently reassigned to "somewhere sunny." Some time later, V received a postcard from Alex, revealing that she ended up in Monte Carlo as she was promised.[6]

Undercover FIA agent, metanthropic technology specialist and Solomon Reed's ex-protégé. When the Unification War broke out, she was sent to Night City, where things went south and Alex came full circle. She returned to the slums she so desperately wanted to leave, though this time it was Dogtown instead of LA. After seven years under cover doing routine spy work, she had almost lost hope of ever getting out of this hellhole... until an old friend suddenly appeared on her doorstep.
