Trading partner and friend to Sasai Arasaka, Akio Nagawa was born in Chiba, Japan. It was through him that the Nagawa family became loyal friends to the Arasaka family. This led to his grandson Kiichi to became the most trusted friend of Kei Arasaka and director of Arasaka IAD. Akio died in 1947 from a heart attack.^{[citation needed]}
