The Abandoned Lake Dwelling is a small cottage found on the shores of Laguna Bend, in the Badlands.
History[]
The former owner of the cottage was a resident of Laguna Bend prior to the construction of the new dam. After all residents were ordered to evacuate, he among others decided to stay. In the end, the NCPD had to drag him out of his house right before the water started to flood the area. Once the reservoir was filled, this resident built a cottage on its shores to be as close as possible to his former home.[1] He also installed a small Van der Duke generator to provide electricity to the building,[2] as well as making sure there was running potable water and more. Unfortunately for him, the close proximity to the lake's toxic water made him get sick and soon after had to leave.[1]
Years later, Judy Álvarez began to dive in the lake by using protective diving equipment. Occasionally, she used the abandoned cottage to rest after a diving session.
In 2077, Judy invited V to make a joint braindance recording while diving through the sumerged ruins of her former hometown. Afterwards, since it was late and they were tired, instead of driving back to Night City, they stayed the night in the cottage.[1]
